Golf Canada has announced the six athletes who will represent Team Canada I and Team Canada II at the 2026 World Junior Girls Golf Championship, taking place September 30-October 3 at Brampton Golf Club.
Ontario Athletes set to Represent Canada
Among the six athletes selected are two Ontario golfers with strong ties to Golf Ontario: Nobelle Park of Oakville and Shauna Liu of Maple.
Nobelle Park, who will compete for Team Canada II, is a former Team Ontario athlete and has built an impressive record at Golf Ontario events. She last represented Team Ontario in 2025 and won the 2025 NextGen Ontario Championship and Ontario Junior Players Invitational. In 2024, Park captured the Ontario Women’s Amateur, Ontario U19 Girls and Ontario U15 Girls titles, while also winning back to back Ontario Junior Girls Spring Classics in 2024 and 2025.
The 16-year-old will make her second appearance at the World Junior Girls Golf Championship, having previously competed in 2024.
Shauna Liu, a member of Team Canada I, has also found success at Golf Ontario championships. In 2023, she won both the Ontario U19 Girls Championship and Ontario Junior Girls Spring Classic.
Championship Returns to Brampton
The 2026 World Junior Girls Golf Championship will take place September 30-October 3 at Brampton Golf Club, bringing 24 teams from 23 countries to Ontario.
This marks the second time Brampton Golf Club has hosted the championship, after previously welcoming the event in 2023. That year, Team Canada I captured gold in a thrilling three-way battle with the Republic of Korea and the United States.
With two Ontario athletes in the field and the championship returning to Brampton, the event will provide a great opportunity for local fans to watch some of the world’s top junior golfers compete on home turf.
