Next Wave
The 2025 Golf Ontario Next Wave Development Program is designed for athletes who rank among the top juniors on the Junior Golf Pathway and have demonstrated exceptional performance in the U13, U15, and U17 Ontario Championships and Junior Golf Pathway Rankings. Golf Ontario aims to support Ontario’s budding athletes in advancing through the Junior Golf Pathway and providing them with early access to training opportunities that will contribute to their future success. This program caters to the Next Wave of junior golfers competing at the provincial and national levels, striving for Team Ontario, Team Canada, College, and Professional Golf.
Invitation Criteria:
- Boys – Top 40 U19, Top 32 U17, Top 24 U15 and top 9 U13 ranked Junior Golf Pathway golfers (up to 40 athletes)
- Girls – Top 40 U19 & U17, Top 25 U15 and top 10 U13 ranked Junior Golf Pathway golfers (up to 40 athletes)

- Coaches selection
- Only 2026 Grad Years and below are qualified to be a Next Wave Athlete
By joining the Golf Ontario Next Wave Junior Development Program, participants will gain access to the following:
- Training opportunities with Team Ontario members.
- Team Ontario Coaching, encompassing mental, physical, technical, and tactical support.
- 5 Virtual Strength and Conditioning/Training Sessions with Dr. Nick Martichenko
- 5 Virtual Mental Performance Sessions with Dr. Charles Fitzsimmons
- Next Wave program clothing pieces (2 polos and 2 hats)

Obtaining A Golf Scholarship
The process of researching, interviewing and deciding on a university or college is a complicated and difficult process. As a service to its aspiring young golfers, Golf Ontario offers seminars designed to assist Junior Boys and Girls, as well as their parents to better understand all aspects of going after a golf scholarship.
NCAA and NAIA Programs in the United States
