Are you ready to TRY the game of golf in a welcoming atmosphere? At Golf Ontario, we are passionate about promoting golf for women in fun and encouraging ways. Join us for a brilliant evening of golf at various courses across Ontario!

Join us and make new friends while exploring the world of golf! Below is a list of Women’s Try events by region.

What to Expect at a Women’s Try Event:

These events are designed for you to enjoy 9 holes with other women of similar golfing experience. Learn from each other, navigate the course in a relaxed setting, discover the clubs that work best for you, and, most importantly, have fun! There’s no use of scorecards or access to coaches at our TRY events—just pure enjoyment of the game.

    • Pre-Event Communication: A member of our participation team will provide you with all the essential information before the event. 

    • Personalized Attention: We’ll accommodate participant requests from the registration form (pairing requests, borrowing clubs, etc.).

    • Tip Videos: Provided to you by our partners at Iron Lady, you will have access to pre-event golf tip videos.

    • Warm Welcome: Our respectful team will greet you upon arrival.

    • Participant Gift: Enjoy a special gift when you check in.

    • Hole 1 Briefing: Before hitting the course, we’ll cover expectations, golf etiquette, and answer your questions.

    • Shortened Holes: Play with unique tee markers, approximately par 3 on every hole.

    • Team Photo: Capture the moment with a team photo taken by one of our members on the course.

    • Check-In: Our team will check in on all groups during the round to ensure a smooth pace of play and address any questions.

    • Post-Round Glass of Wine: Unwind and celebrate your round with a complimentary glass of wine.

    • Feedback Opportunity: Share your thoughts in a post-event survey.

    • Stay Connected: Receive updates about future events and promotions via email.

  • Refund Policy

    Before Event Day:

    Refund available. All cancellations must be done via email to participation@golfontario.ca

      • A $7.00 plus tax administrative charge will be deducted

      • Entry fees can be transferred to another participant.

      • Entry fees can be deferred to a later event, subject to availability.

    Event Day or Post Event:

    No refunds except for the following.

      • The entry fee will be refunded (less the $7.00 plus tax administration fee) only in the event of injury or illness, if requested in writing to participation@golfontario.ca (Medical doctor’s note required).

    Refunds are processed within a week of cancelling your registration, due to weather or low participation numbers. Once processed, your refund can take up to 10 business days to show on your end. Please ensure you are checking the correct account. We appreciate your patience and cooperativeness during this process.

FAQ

  • Will there be coaches at the Women’s Try events?

    No – our Try events are designed for you to come enjoy a round of golf (9 holes) with friends, family, colleagues, or solo. There will be signage on the course to help you navigate your way, and there will always be Golf Ontario employees present to help answer any questions you may have!

  • What does my registration include?

    Try Events – Registration includes your round of golf, a registration gift, and glass of wine post golf, courtesy of our partner Noble Estates.

  • Do you have clubs that I can borrow if I do not have a set of my own?

    Absolutely! We have sets of loaner clubs for participants to use upon request in the registration form. Each bag will be full of balls and tees to use during your round.

  • I want to sign up with a friend/relative/colleague. How do ensure I am paired with them?

    While filling out the registration form, it is recommended that you put their name in the Notes section at the bottom the form. If you have already filled out the form and forgot to put their name down, please contact us.

  • What time should I show up to each event?

    Women’s Try – Your Tee time is the time you should be on the first tee, hitting your ball. Given this, we suggest you arrive 20 – 30 minutes prior to your tee time to give yourself enough time to check in, change, use the washroom, get a snack, meet your group, etc.
