After two days of competition, the 2026 Ontario Public Amateur Championship crowned its champions on September 1 at Baxter Creek Golf Club in Fraserville. Players from across the province competed over 36 holes, with champions crowned in the Low Gross Overall and Net Flight divisions.
Low Gross Overall Divisions
Men’s
Brad Boyle of Sunderland claimed the Men’s Low Gross Overall title after an impressive final round of 67. Following an opening round of 75, Boyle surged to a two-day total of 142 (-2) to secure the championship. Scott Herod (Cambridge) finished second at 146 (+2), while Nathan VanAsseldonk (Inverary) rounded out the top three with a total of 148 (+4).
Women’s
Elaine Surjoprajogo of Mississauga successfully defended her Women’s Low Gross Overall title, earning her second consecutive Ontario Public Amateur Championship victory. Surjoprajogo posted rounds of 72 and 80 for a two-day total of 152 (+8). Marlow Slatter (Belleville) finished second at 163 (+19), while Abigail Dove of Whitby placed third with a total of 165 (+21).
Net Flight Champions
Beyond the overall titles, champions were also crowned across the flighted net divisions. Boyle added another title to his championship, claiming the A Flight victory.
Siyuan Hu of Toronto captured the B Flight title with rounds of 73 and 87 for a two-day net total of 140 (-4).
The C Flight came down to a dramatic playoff, with Dean DiMarco, Steve Montpetit and Justin Troup finishing tied at 143 (-1). Steve Montpetit (Orillia) ultimately emerged victorious from the three-player playoff after posting rounds of 70 and 73.
On the women’s side, Surjoprajogo added the Women’s Net title to her championship, completing a successful couple of days at Baxter Creek.
