Team ON Golf – Selection Process

This prestigious multi-sport event will take place August 8–25, 2025, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, with golf competition running August 19–22 at Bally Haly Golf & Country Club. Athletes will arrive August 17th with a team training day on August 18th, competition from the 19th to 22nd. Closing ceremonies are August 24th and the team will travel home August 25th.

Team Ontario Golf will be comprised of:

  • 2 male athletes
  • 2 female athletes
  • 1 coach
  • 1 team manager

    All travel, accommodations, meals, tournament fees, and team apparel will be fully covered by Golf Ontario and the Games.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Team Ontario Golf, athletes must:

  • Meet all competitor eligibility requirements outlined in the 2025 Canada Games Technical Package
  • Be under 18 years of age as of August 1, 2025 (born August 2, 2006 or later)
  • Be a member in good standing with Golf Ontario and Golf Canada
  • Be a permanent resident of Ontario
  • Compete from the designated competition yardages (boys and girls will play from standardized yardages)

Qualifying Events

All Junior Golf Pathway Ranked events up to and including June 28, 2025, will be considered.

Selection Process

  • The top 2 ranked U19 male and female athletes on the Junior Golf Pathway Rankings as of June 29, 2025 (after rankings are updated to include the Ontario Women’s and Men’s Amateurs) will be selected.
  • If a selected athlete declines their invitation, the next ranked athlete will be offered the position.
    If there is a tie in the JGP Rankings it will be broken by most points earned in last JGP ranked event played.
  • If there is a tie in the JGP Rankings it will be broken by most points earned in last JGP ranked event played.
